The choice of material depends on the product's characteristics and logistical conditions:

• Single-Wall (Simple): This is the preferred option for shipping or packaging lightweight, durable, non-fragile products or those that already have sturdy primary packaging (e.g., clothing, documents, shoe boxes). It generally supports loads of up to 10 kg and minimizes the weight of the packaging and the thickness of the walls, optimizing shipping space.
• Double-Wall Corrugated: It is essential for shipping fragile items (glass, electronics), heavy goods (over 10 kg), or packaging intended for long-term storage and vertical stacking on pallets in a warehouse. The combination of two corrugated layers ensures exceptional resistance to vertical compression, external impacts, and the stresses of international shipping.

FEFCO codes represent the official international standard established by the European Corrugated Board Association to classify structural designs and cardboard packaging models using unique four-digit numerical codes (for example, FEFCO 0201 refers to the standard American box, while FEFCO 0427 identifies the self-erecting interlocking box). Salco uses this international catalog to communicate clearly and precisely with technical buyers and purchasing managers. The difference between these two types of boxes lies in their structure, manufacturing method, assembly process, and intended use:

• American-Style Box (FEFCO 0201): This is the classic shipping box with top and bottom flaps that meet in the center and require adhesive tape to close. It is produced at very high speeds on industrial linear machines (gluing machines), is extremely economical, and is delivered flat. It is suitable for storage, warehouse logistics, and standard industrial shipping.
• Die-Cut Box: It is produced by cutting cardboard using a custom die. It features precision-fit joints, double walls, or self-closing bottoms and is typically assembled by folding the cardboard without the use of adhesive tape or glue. It offers a refined, high-end appearance and is ideal for product packaging, e-commerce, and retail displays.
