For what types of industries do you manufacture display units?

We develop and manufacture custom promotional displays for both industrial brands (floor-standing and countertop displays for product promotion) and to meet the structural needs of large-scale retail chains, independent retail channels, pharmacies, perfume shops, eyewear stores, the food and beverage sector, and the consumer electronics industry.

Do you make displays made of just one type of paper, or do you also make ones made of multiple materials?

Although we specialize in corrugated and solid cardboard (a 100% recyclable single-material), we design and manufacture both single-material and multi-material displays. To meet aesthetic requirements or ensure long-lasting durability at the point of sale, we can integrate cardboard with complementary materials such as Plexiglas elements (for transparent shelves), plywood or wood accents (for a natural or rustic style), and internal metal supports (to increase the load-bearing capacity for displayed products).

Do you make Christmas boxes or boxes for special occasions?

Yes, designing packaging for seasonal holidays and special occasions is one of our areas of expertise. We create high-end Christmas boxes for artisanal pastries (custom boxes for panettone, pandoro, and chocolates), gift packaging for wineries (luxury boxes and bottle crates), and promotional boxes for corporate events or product launches.

Do you make foldable boxes?

Yes, we design and manufacture collapsible boxes (space-saving folding boxes). These are die-cut packaging solutions that are delivered and stored completely flat in the warehouse to minimize logistics space requirements. They can be assembled extremely easily and quickly when needed, thanks to precise folding systems or integrated corner adhesive strips. They combine the aesthetic appeal of a rigid box with the logistical advantages of a flat box.

Do you make lined boxes?

Yes, in our fine paper products division, we produce lined boxes (rigid lined boxes) for special projects and luxury packaging. This type of packaging consists of a base made of thick, rigid, flat cardboard that is covered and lined manually or semi-automatically with high-quality specialty papers (metallized, embossed, eco-friendly, or offset-printed). They are ideal for jewelry, perfumes, high-end eyewear, and prestigious corporate gifts.

Is it possible to customize the interior of e-commerce shipping boxes?

Yes, interior customization is a highly strategic solution that has proven very successful in branded e-commerce. It allows you to print logos, personalized thank-you messages, instructions for use, or decorative patterns on the inside of the box, while keeping the exterior of the packaging completely neutral and anonymous. This approach serves a dual purpose: it protects the shipment from the risk of theft during transit by couriers (by not revealing the brand inside) and creates an exceptional surprise effect for the customer when they open the package (the unboxing experience).

How should the graphic file be prepared for customizing the box?

To ensure proper prepress processing and avoid operational delays, Salco’s graphics department requires that files be saved in native vector formats (such as Adobe Illustrator .AI, .EPS, or .PDF with layers visible). Text must be converted to paths (curves) to avoid issues with missing fonts. Any raster images included in the project must have a minimum resolution of 300 DPI at actual size. Colors must be precisely defined using the international Pantone scale for corporate colors or the four-color process (CMYK). Graphics must be placed within the layer corresponding to the die-cut outline provided by our technical department.

What printing technologies do you use to customize cardboard?

We offer three industrial printing technologies to meet every need in terms of print run, budget, and print quality:

  • Flexographic Printing (Flexo): Direct rotary technology using water-based inks. It is ideal for large print runs of shipping cardboard boxes , ensuring extremely high production speeds and the lowest possible cost.
  • Offset Printing (Laminated): Guaranteed ultra-high-definition photographic print quality, absolute color accuracy, and luxurious finishes. It is printed on a flat sheet of cardstock that is then glued to corrugated cardboard. It is recommended for premium packaging, gift boxes, and point-of-sale displays.
  • Digital Printing: A technology that eliminates the fixed costs associated with printing plates or cylinders. It allows for the rapid production of small batches, prototypes, samples, or customized graphics with variable data, ensuring excellent color reproduction.
